Dock Management
Operators allocate, release and optimize truck flow from a single dashboard.
How dock assignment works
From a waiting queue to the right door in one click — and the driver knows instantly.
What problem does it solve?
Without a shared view of the docks, staff have no clean way to tell a driver which door to use or to see which docks are already busy. Assignments happen over the radio or on a whiteboard, so two trucks get sent to the same dock and the queue at the gate turns into guesswork.
Logistiq turns the docks into a single live board. Every waiting truck is visible, a dock is assigned in one click, the board updates for everyone in real time, and the driver is notified automatically — no radios, no double-booked doors.
Radio & whiteboard
- No shared view of which docks are free
- Two trucks sent to the same door
- Drivers told the dock by phone or radio
- Status lives in someone's head
Logistiq dock board
- Every dock's status, live for the whole team
- A dock can hold only one truck at a time
- The driver is notified the moment it's assigned
- Waiting, assigned, loading, done — tracked automatically
Benefits for the whole team
From the gate to the office, everyone works from the same board.
For the operator
- Sees every waiting, assigned and in-progress truck update live, with no refresh
- Assigns any free dock from a single click, no radio call
- Can't double-book a door — an occupied dock is locked to its truck
For the driver
- Gets the assigned dock automatically by push, SMS and WhatsApp
- Sees the dock's photos, GPS location and access instructions
- Drives straight to the right door instead of waiting for a call
For the manager
- Groups docks by department — separate loading and unloading zones
- Sets up a whole row of docks in one action, no one-by-one setup
- Sees each department's docks and the truck occupying each one
Frequently asked questions about dock management
The operator opens a waiting check-in and picks any free dock from a list. The dock instantly flips to occupied, the truck is routed there, and the previously assigned dock (on a reassignment) is freed automatically.
Yes. The dock board and check-in queue update live over Supabase Realtime — occupancy and waiting counts change for everyone without a refresh.
Yes. As soon as a dock is assigned, the driver gets a push notification, plus SMS and WhatsApp in their own language, and sees the door number with its photos and access instructions on their phone.
Yes. Docks are grouped under departments through a many-to-many link, so a dispatcher only sees the docks for their zone, and the dashboard shows each department's docks and their current trucks.
